Tom Bendelow laid out the Lincoln Elks Golf Club in 1904, making it one of the oldest courses in Illinois. That's 120 years of tree-lined fairways, challenging greens, and rounds played by generations of Lincoln families. The course rewards accuracy over raw distance, so golfers of every skill level find it both accessible and genuinely satisfying.

The Lodge sits on County Road 1525 E just outside town, and the setting feels a world apart from the everyday. Mature oaks frame the fairways, the greens are well-maintained, and the staff is the kind of friendly that regulars take for granted and first-timers always mention in their reviews. A 4.6-star rating across 143 reviews doesn't happen by accident.

Off the course, Elks Lodge #914 carries on the Benevolent and Protective Order's tradition of community service, charitable giving, and looking after veterans. Lincoln holds a unique place in American history as the only city named for Abraham Lincoln before he became president, and the Lodge has been part of that community fabric for over a century.

What We Offer

The golf course is the centerpiece, a classic 18-hole layout where tree placement and green contours do the work that yardage alone cannot. Tee times are available for members and the public, and the welcoming staff makes first-time visitors feel like regulars from the first hole.

Beyond golf, the Lodge operates a full banquet and event venue capable of hosting weddings, anniversary parties, corporate gatherings, and fundraisers. The dining room and bar serve members and guests with a comfortable, no-pretense atmosphere that keeps people coming back after their round.

Elks #914 also supports youth programs, veterans' initiatives, and local scholarships through the national Elks charitable mission. Membership opens the door to all of it, from reciprocal privileges at Elks Lodges nationwide to a genuine sense of belonging in Lincoln, Illinois.

"Lincoln Elks Golf Club was designed by Tom Bendelow in 1904. It is located in Lincoln, IL. Lincoln is the only town in the United States that was named for Abraham Lincoln before he became president. My road trip from Champaign to Lincoln was quite educational because I could easily spot the NOAA weather station along the IL 10 road. The WSR-88D Doppler radar stood out as it resembled a large soccer ball. For golfers, it may appear like a giant golf ball sitting on a tall tee. Regarding the golf course itself, Tom Bendelow never disappoints me. The first 6 holes are flat, easy, and great for warming up. Holes from 7 to 10 become quite interesting. Hole #11, #14, and #17 are awesome. I made a birdie on #11. Alabama is famous for Robert Trent Jones golf trail. Indiana is famous for Pete Dye golf trail. I think Illinois should market Tom Bendelow trail to golfers."

"The Lincoln Elks Golf Club offers a classic, enjoyable round for golfers of all skill levels. This mature course boasts tree-lined fairways and challenging greens. While not overly long, accuracy is key, especially with the undulating terrain and strategically placed bunkers. The course also offers a good mix of hole layouts, with some demanding length and others requiring finesse. Elevation changes throughout the course add to the visual appeal and strategic play. Although a private club, non-Logan County residents can enjoy the course anytime. With its blend of history, challenge, and unique featurs the Lincoln Elks Golf Club is a hidden gem worth discovering."

"The premium golf option for Central Illinois. Starting with the tee boxes which are in very good shape with three sets of tees. The fairways are perfectly challenging and each hole is unique. The bunkers are very well maintained and the sand is very nice. The greens are the highlight of this course with the aerated grass and the sharp edges. Finishing in the clubhouse which includes all of the essential amenities you would expect in a clubhouse with the addition of a wide range of golf gear. Overall my favorite course to play on and like to play 18 holes every time."
